Braille

Braille is a means of reading and writing for blind people. The Braille system was invented by Louis Braille. He has made it possible for blind people to take notes, write letters, read books and popular magazines, compute mathematical equations, and even read and write music.

Grade 1 Braille is the most basic representations of letters, numbers and punctuation. The entire Braille alphabet is based on this 6-dot cell represented bellow.

By itself a braille letter is assumed to be in lower case. To show an uppercase letter, the capital sign is put in front of the braille letter.

a a A capa  -  b b B capb  -  c b C capb

The number sign is used in the same way and put in front of the braille first letters of the alphabet.

a a 1 number1  -  b b 2 number2  -  c b 3 numberb
